Making UNITY Happen in Community

This past weekend we held our first annual American Craft Beer Week BBQ Cook-Off, co-sponsored by the Nebraska Cattlemen – Burwell Affiliate. We wanted to celebrate American Craft Beer Week, May Beef Month and have fun while doing it. The event also served as an opportunity for us to give back to our community: specifically the Ord Food Pantry. Food banks and pantries are essential to alleviating hunger and food insecurity across our nation. Most importantly, contributions to support the Ord Food Pantry help the most vulnerable to food insecurity: children. It’s estimated that nearly 16 MILLION children live in food insecure homes across America.

We’re pleased to announce the results of the contributions to the Ord Food Pantry. The generous contributions of the community totaled in $892 raised with 270.75 pounds of food donated for the Ord Food Pantry. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the support received at the event. The generosity of our area community is overwhelming. The contributions raised from the fundraiser also apply toward the Can Caravan goals made by the Ord Food Pantry.
